Big Boys...

Jesse is quickly catching up to his big bro. He has been cruising for quite some time now, and has now been bravely attemping to go it alone without holding on...the record stands now at 3 steps...then plop. Very steady...

Our kitchen floor is taken over every morning, by two big boys laying on their sides making big half circles with their cars. Jesse has until this point, let his big bro do as he pleases, monopolize all the games, steal the bigger cookies, yank his toys right out of his chubby little hands...but those days are over. Jesse is now making his sentiments known, and daniel is getting away with less and less

I have been learning to knit, I have made two scarves so far for the boys. It is so exciting to have something tangible at the end of the day...

it is getting colder these days, and we are having fun bundleing up and going out...the boys favorite place to go is our local librabry, they make new friends everytime we go. It is located on a main road here, and one whole wall is glass, so as they play they can see all of the people walking by, the red buses driving by and the trucks carrying their loads, it is really fun to watch and hear all the kids call out everything they see...BUS BUS!!! and then a chorus Gook gook a bus!( and a bus goes by about every other minute!)

Went out today with they boys today to get our Visa pictures taken...simple enough you might think? It was crazy! Daniel fell asleep on the way, so we thought it best to let him sleep a bit so he would be well rested and bright for his photo. Well hours later he still showed no signs of waking, so we thought we would gently wake him...
He woke up in the worst of moods, and would not cooperate in the least. The whole photo shop came to a halt, as nearly everyone there turned to see who was torturing this child, they proceeded at making many attempts of cheering him up, but to no avail.
There were offers of Chocolate, hugs, puppies and kittens, but Daniel insistently shouted No!!! So we left and figured we should relieve these poor people...

One walk, and a happy meal later he was in a much better mood...until we entered to photo shop, and once more he made it very clear we was not going to be taking any pictures...So, while the rest of us are ready with Visa applications, pictures and all, Daniel may just be seeing you all a bit sooner than expected...

little adeventures...in a big world

Well lets see, it has been a bit since the last blog so I thought I should recap on all the things that are going on in the Munoz House...

1. MINE! is the word of the moment, It can be heard morning noon and night, as Daniel shouts this while pouting his lips and scrunching his eyebrows. He is now 39 inches! Very much a big boy, current favorites, Naccchhhooo! (Loves practicing all his wrestling moves with daddy and occasionally Jesse.) string cheese, drawing boats, playing with play dough and "cooking".

2. Jesse is quickly catching up to Daniel has been "cruising" for sometime now and is practicing letting go. Everything is still going in the mouth for some taste testing...and he is very much still mama's boy, glued to either, my hip, back (in baby carrier) or feet.

3. We have been trying to take advantage of the last days of sun still left, and have been exploring the city. Had lots of fun with some sculptures in Reagents Park,

4. Brandon is still sporting the 30- something manly man beard...how long will it grow? It has grown past the prickly phase and has become alot softer...but it still has the boys squirming away when daddy tries to kiss them.qd

5. As for me, apart from keeping my head above water with these taking care of these three boys, I'm feeling a bit adventerous these days. Trying new things and going places I've never been on my own. Last Wednesday I went to a women's bible study in the city where I met alot of interesting women from all walks of life. I felt a bit out of place at first, but I'm beginning to appreciate my role as a missionary mum from California in Camden. While I might not be a perfect match for the many parenting styles or latest trends out here, I think I'm finding my niche. I'm having fun, discovering and allowing myself the opportunity to be the mum I want to be...

Uncanny Resemblance!

Father and son looking very much alike!

It is Sunday night here in the Munoz house, and that means comfy trousers on and feet up. It has been a busy week here, as we have been working on getting our Visa's and have been getting ready for some out of town visitors. Daniel has just gone through a little growth spurt and has shot up what seem like a few inches, I will measure him this week to check. Last week he was eating like a grown man, one day after lunch he asked for a banana...and after he fininshed asked for another...and then one more...3 bananas! But he didn't stop there, after that he ate a plum and a nectarine, and at dinner had a burger and a half, and topped it all off with one more bannana. Don't worry he normally does not eat like this. He seemed to have sleep the better part of the week, his little body was busy growing, noticible difference.

He is asking alot of questions, loves going back and forth from his room to the Kitchen and asking "Hey Mama, what you doing? I say "Hi Daniel, I'm just washing up." and he says, "wow, washing up? Cool." He is alot of fun. Jesse Is growing fast too, following Daniel all around the house wanting to play like a big boy, cruisining along all of the furniture.

sweet silence...

The boys are sleeping and house sits quiet. Today was a great day no time outs, no fits, no spills...just two sweet boys. I am just sitting here, feeling grateful.

In the midst of all the chaos and hard work, I am thankful for slow gray days that let us recharge for the not so calm ones.

Scones, Baguettes & Pan Dulce

Well we just had a great visit from our friends and fellow Churchplanters from Marsellei, the Nuno's . We had a packed house with 5 kids, 3 and under. Daniel loved having so many friends over...he and Jubilee played happily in the dirt..just chatting away, who knows how much was understood in the exchanges, but they had a great time. Whatever Jubilee said Daniel would just respond, "oh, cool."

The Girls loved babying Jesse, and he loved all the attention. It was so sweet seeing the boys become little buddies holding hands all over town, walking like big boys...

Summer Fun...

Well the boys have been keeping busy this Summer... Jesse is catching up to Daniel Quickly, he has gone from sitting, to scooching on his tummy commando style, to crawling, to pulling himself up within a matter of weeks. Daniel has been having a great time teaching him to do all sorts of things, his favorite thing to do is pretend he is in charge he makes sure Jesse knows when it is nap time....even goes and gets him a blankie.

Daniel's newest pastime is cooking, he particularly gets inspired when Nigela Lawson is on TV, He watches the show from the Kitchen counter and gathers all of his ingredients an gets to work... His latest creation, Sal con Atun y Cream Crackers.mmmm!
(Don't worry I didn't let him eat it...we saved it for Daddy)

Great Weekend...

Friday Night Brandon and I celebrated the 1o year ann. of our first date... We tried to recreate the day here in London...Even found a little place called "Ed's" claiming to be the Original...just like Johnny Rockets. We displayed some restraint, and ordered only a small starter, chili Fries and milk shakes. We racked our brains trying to remember what our conversation would have been like ten years ago...On that date we discovered we had a few things in Common, we had both read a book called lobster boy, a shared interest in conspiracies and a desire explore the world...

Saturday we went to the Innocent Fete, in Reagent's Park, to Celebrate the big 3 0...

There was all sorts of fun stuff going on line dancing, ferret racing and displays of dog agility and free smoothies, we had a birthday picnic under a nice shady tree and enjoyed some good ol' American Funk.

As you can see here it was a hot day, Jesse dressed appropriately.

Brandon took the boys for a birthday walk early Sunday morning. It was the perfect opportunity to use the Wagon Abuelita and Mike Sent. The boys Loved it, they waved at everyone they pass and even decided to take a little break from their busy day

A little cramped but enough room for a little nap...

All the guys from the Freedom house pitched in and surprised Brandon with some awesome gifts...thanks guys for making this a Birthday to remember!

Interview with the Artist

So is this your first exhibition in London?

Yes, I did a show is California recently, however my work was too avant garde for the orange county crowd. But I feel the British public will better appreciate the political tone in the piece.

So what is the title of this painting?

I'm calling it "Don't Tell the Landlord"

Who are you're influences?

Dali...Auntie CarCar...my Father....he is an amazing artist...Banksy...and oh Yes, Elmo's earlier works.

Any new exhibitions planned in the near future?

Why yes, I'm preparing a show in my bedroom where all the murals are painted with just my dirty feet. It will be ready in the autumn. Hope to see you there...

Interview With a Baby

So Jesse you're looking stylish today. Who are you wearing this evening?

Jesse: Oh Thanks, I'm in a limited edition Rosalind Munoz Vintage Jumper. It was hand sewn nearly 30 years ago. My dad, my auntie, and my brother wore it. But I look the best so far!

I notice you also have a retro accessory to go with the outfit.

Yes it's a Gumby reissue. I have Pokey as well, but his head doesn't fit as nicely into my mouth.

I heard from a few sources that you have grown your first tooth. Is there any truth to that?
That Gumby has a big mouth! But yes, it's true. On the bottom left. I'll use it to get revenge on that red-eyed blabber mouth.

So what are your plans for the Summer?
Well I plan to do a bit of traveling you know...I'm so bored with the living room I think I'll head out east to my parents room and see all the undiscovered sites under the bed. Or maybe north to the patio. I hear it's nice this time of year...

Any final thoughts?
Yeah just a shout out to my cousin's Adi, Sammy, Bella and the new baby due in October...Peace Out!

Pamela Preaches Up a Storm!

Wow! I am still settling down from the thrill of seeing my beautiful wife lay down the word at our church service today. God really used her to stir peoples hearts today to get real with Him. More than a few tears were shed at the end and some great healing took place in peoples lives.

Daniel and Jesse both wore the black shirts that say "MOM" to show their support. It was a miracle that Daniel slept through the whole service too. Jesse didn't even get fussy once. Leaving Pamela with the freedom to speak her heart and mind without having to worry about diaper changes and breast feeding. Recorded it all on mp3: So anyone interested just email me...

After some powerful prayer time we packed up the gear and went to Nando's with some friends fromFreedomhouse. It was an unusually sunny afternoon for this summer so we ate outside. An end to an awesome Sunday!

Switching roles...

Well this week the Mr. and Mrs. munoz have switched roles, Brandon has been taking care of the Kids, while I have been preparing to speak on Sunday...

Today Brandon took the Kids to the London Zoo, where Daniel Saw the Gorillas up close and tried to wake them up by calling out to them "ooh ooh ooh oooh!"

Jesse slept through alot of the monkey business... they all went to a "Rhyme Time" at our local Library where Daniel got bored and wandered off to the play kitchen and cooked food for everyone, Meanwhile Jesse was crawling around exploring and trying to make friends...

Thank you to abuelita who sent these yogurt covered pretzels along with alot of other goodies, Jesse loved sucking all the yogurt off the pretzels.

Here is the face he made when he was told there where no more!

,,,Out of the Fog

Hey everyone...the fog is beginning to lift...we are finally crawling out of the baby cave.
This last year has been an intense flood of changes with our family and ministry here in London.
After finally having our Internet hooked up, in what is now our 4th flat, we thought it would be good to catch up with the rest of the world! With this Blog and some other things to come, we look forward to giving our friends and family an inside view of our adventures he in London.

Here we go...

It is Monday and here in the Munoz house that is family day! Our weekends are always full-on with Outreaches, Fellowship stuff and Church services. So we take a "Sabbath" when most of the world is back on the grind.

Today we'll continue our many furniture projects that we started before we moved. So far we've completed Daniels new bed, creative centre and some shelves. (Pic included) We've also managed to find some great director style chairs someone had tossed out in the "Skip" over the weekend. But really they were very clean trust me. Only one of them needed a bit of glue and clamping. So thanks to whoever you are for the new comfy chairs!
"Just working on some beats"

Last night Daniel had a bad nightmare that took awhile to recover from. But was up bright and early asking for his favourite treat, yogurt. Jesse is now a crawling machine! Biting, grabbing and discovering the world with his gums. Pamela is finally starting to use a teapot I gave her 5 yeas ago! It's great for Monday morning tea by the window.

Comfy in the new chair

Thanks for being patient with us during these last months of silence. And please feel free to correspond and let us know what's happening with you!
