Spring Cleaning...

After just five years of marriage we have accumulated quite alot of stuff. We recently did a spring clean and got rid of lots of stuff the kids had outgrown, and cleared our flat of things we just weren't using. It feels so good to have a little more elbow room in our little flat. As we were rummaging, sorting and cleaning, I started noticing how many memories are tied to certain things. This Basket that now holds puzzle pieces, held bread at our wedding, wool for my knitting more recently and diapers at one point(clean ones of course). Just kind of cool to think about, makes me smile throughout my days as I remember...

I need some oranges and greens...

There is a great pattern for a "t-shirt" rug in a book I got for christmas, called Alterknits. I got so excited, that at the possibilites of making something new out of some old t-shirts. So I started cutting away, making some yarn out of Brandon's old shirts, and all of my maternity ones. But I am not really liking the color combos I have so far...So if you have and interesting colored shirts send them my way...especialy any bright orange or green ones...more reds too. So in the mean time The boys are enjoying playing with these homemade...surprisingly bouncy balls.

So I thought you might like to see me latest thirfting find...I was so excited. I have
been on a hunt for a cake stand for a while now, actually I think it's been just a bit over a year now, with no luck. So I was thrilled yes thrilled to find 2! in one day of thrifting in Camden. 2 pounds each, so not bad, and they look really cool stacked on top of each other...yeah! It made my day.

Catch Me If You Can...

Well, we were having our traditional family chill out after church last Sunday when something unexpected happened. We were in Starbucks by Hampstead Heath, what people might call a 'nicer part of town'. Anyway this lady yells, "Stop her she's got that woman's bag!" We then saw this woman running out with a black bag while everyone in the place is looking around to see what's going on and deciding if they're gonna get involved.

Not knowing who's bag it was or what the heck was going on, my legs just obeyed the call to do something, the rest of me just followed. My confused jog towards the door slowed down as it seemed all hope to catch the bag thief was lost.

Then some delayed crime fighting adrenaline kicked me in the butt or something cause I shot off like a rocket to the moon! I caught up to her after a quick turn around the corner. After hearing my steps right behind her she gave up and stopped saying, "Alright , Alright you can have it!"

Hears the kicker...It was my Bag! With my $300 sound recorder in it.

I was speechless. Didn't say a word to her, just grabbed it back and went back into the Starbucks where the all greeted me with loud cheers and a free frappucino's for everyone in the place. Well, not really. But people were glad, but just went back to their papers and important conversations.

"She went that way!", said Jesse.

Daniel was happy to see me back in one piece. Pamela was a bit frazzled, but excited that we weren't victims of a London pick pocket for the 4th time in 4 years...I guess we were due for another round?

Jesse's customised Crib. A good place to count sheep at night.

Celebrating our 5yr Anniversary with the boys...

Contemplating...

Sitting on the pebble beach in South End.

I think I saw one of these for sale at mothercare.

Jesse terrified of the adventure island lizard.

If you look closely you can see the tear on Daniel's cheek...his first impression of "Adventure Island" was a frightening one.

Happy Day...

We have had a great week...it was our half term/spring break week. So we Had Daddy all to ourselves, and we sure have enjoyed having him here. The Boys wrestled day and night with their daddy, Jesse is getting in on the action too. He is playing on his own alot more, he likes to sit in a corner or by the window on his own and read, he is really in a very sweet stage. Still a smushy cuddly baby, but really getting to be a big boy, mellow but really strong willed.

Well this week we got to do alot of things we normally don't have time for, we made a head board for Daniel...inspired by Yo Gabba Gabba his new favorite show, it is a big 80's Boombox! Really fun, I will post the picture as soon as it is finished, Brandon is putting the finishing touches on it right now. We organized our pictures, something we had planned to do over the Christmas break, but never had a chance to since we all got the stomach flu. We finally put our honeymoon pictures in an album...5yrs later! We are celebrating our anniversary tommorrow!

It was a nice and easy week, today we all got into bed and took a family nap, as it thundered and rained outside...read all of the books the boys wanted...had Subway(a real treat...no cooking or clean up)and and have a cake in the oven my attempt to replicate our wedding cake. I couldn't have asked for a better day...
